Dimitri G. Vassilacos

Dimitri is a corporate financier since 1996.

From 2011 until 2015 he was a Managing Director and Head of Greek Shipping at Citibank (portfolio of $1.5bn). During that time, further to a number of debt transactions, he co-led a securitisation deal of a commercial bank’s shipping portfolio of ca. USD900m.

Prior to this, Dimitri served for 6 years as the Manager of the Shipping Division at National Bank of Greece (portfolio of $3bn). From 1996 to 2000 he was an advisor to the Executive Chairman of NBG and from 2001-2005 he was the General Manager of NBG’s London commercial and corporate banking operation (including shipping).

During 2016 Dimitri co-led the shipping finance projects of a boutique PE/Advisory firm in Athens (Greece).

Dimitri holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, an MBA from HEC Paris and a MALD from Fletcher School, Tufts University.
