Ismini Kouvelou

Ismini is a shipping finance professional with 17 years of experience in the financial analysis, structuring, and credit risk assessment of shipping loan facilities, as well as the relationship management of the respective shipping clients. During this time, she worked at Piraeus Bank and facilitated many large-scale projects and operations, including, but not limited to, the financing of the construction of new-building and the acquisition of second-hand vessels, as well as financing of shipping groups at a corporate level. As a relationship manager, she has been responsible for client relationships often exceeding USD1.2bn.

Her experience -importantly- also includes the restructuring of (bilateral and syndicated) shipping loans as well as the acceleration of facilities and enforcement of mortgagee rights. She has also been responsible for coordinating bank audit proceedings undertaken by external international third parties.

Prior to entering the finance world, Ismini had worked for three years as a shipbroker, being responsible for exclusive and competitive chartering for drybulk vessels.

She holds a BSc in Shipping Operations from Solent University, Southampton, UK, and an LLM in Legal Aspects of Marine Affairs from Cardiff University, Cardiff, UK.
